The junior outfielder from The Woodlands, Texas, has 30 RBIs and three home runs in 38 games.

The UTSA first baseman is coming off a giant weekend in a three-game Conference USA baseball series at the plate against Southern Miss with eight hits including two home runs and six RBIs:
– Sunday: 3-for-4, home run, two RBIs, walk
– Saturday: 2-for-3, three RBIs, home run
– Friday: 3-for-4, one RBI, walk

The Roadrunners won twice in the three-game weekend series.
Marshall took a 4-3 lead into the ninth. UTSA loaded the bases in the ninth and Leyton Barry scored the tying run in a close play at the plate on Josh Killeen’s sacrifice fly to right.
Shane Sirdashney’s hit through the middle brought in Austin Ochoa with the winning run. Ochoa had a pinch-hit single to put two men on base after Barry started the rally with a one-out walk.
UTSA reliever Simon Miller (3-3) held Marshall scoreless over the final four innings to get the win.

The Roadrunners are 8-2 in their last 10 CUSA games. UTSA and Marshall play again Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
UTSA starting pitcher Daniel Garza went 4 2/3 innings and allowed three hits and two runs (both runs unearned in the fifth inning).
UTSA reliever Braylon Owens (3-1) pitched three scoreless innings and earned the win. Simon Miller entered the game in the top of the ninth inning and pitched the final three outs to get his first save of the season.
Killeen’s key hit put UTSA in front 4-0. Ian Bailey hit a solo home run in the third inning to make it 5-0.

UTSA rallied to beat Florida International 9-8 on Sunday at Roadrunner Field.
The Roadrunners scored a single run in the bottom of the eighth to break an 8-8 tie. Garrett Poston drove in pinch runner Isaiah Walker with the winning run.
Roadrunners reliever Braylon Owens pitched the final 2 2/3 innings to earn the win. He held FIU scoreless and allowed three hits with two strikeouts and one walk.
Jonathan Tapia, Shane Sirdashney and Leyton Barry all homered.
Tapia’s solo home run and Ryan Flores’ RBI single allowed UTSA to tie the game 8-8 in the bottom of the seventh.
Sirdashney’s three-run homer in the fifth put UTSA in front 6-4 and gave the Roadrunners their first lead.
Barry’s solo homer in the third inning accounted for UTSA’s first run of the game.
UTSA swept the three-game series and improved to 27-13 on the season and 12-6 in Conference USA.

The three-game Conference USA series continues Saturday with the final game on Sunday.
Poston hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning to give UTSA a 7-1 lead.
Bailey, UTSA’s home run leader on the season, hit a solo shot in the third inning that made it 5-1.
Bailey finished the game with three hits. Jonathan Tapia had three hits, a walk, three RBIs and scored four runs.
UTSA starter Luke Malone pitched 5 1/3 innings and improved his record to 6-1. He allowed six hits with five strikeouts, no walks and no earned runs.




UTSA jumped ahead with four runs on five hits in the bottom of the first for a 4-1 lead. Louisiana Tech came back with three runs in the fifth and single runs in the sixth and eighth innings.
UTSA finished with 12 hits including three each by Leyton Barry and Ryan Flores. Shane Sirdashney had a two-run single in the first inning.

The Roadrunners got home runs from Leyton Barry, Chase Keng, Ian Bailey and Sammy Diaz. UTSA starting pitcher Jacob Jimenez (2-0) went five innings and allowed four runs to earn the win.
It was UTSA’s sixth victory in a row. The series continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. at Roadrunner Field.
