Jackson and Clark earned American Conference honorable mention player of the week honors, announced on Monday.


Helen Lazaro scored the St. Mary’s goal in the first half.
Ava Jackson and Lilli Denhardt scored for UTSA in the first half. Amelia Clark and Dulci Binns scored in the second half. Leah Varela had two assists and Clark, Brooklyn Bailey and Caroline Pelkofski had one assist each.
UTSA plays at home again at Park West on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. against Texas Southern.

– vs. St. Mary’s on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
– vs. Texas Southern on Thursday, at 7:30 p.m.

Ava Jackson scored in the first half from in close. Sadie Paul scored in the second half off assists from Jackson and Sabrina Taber.
It was the first victory of the season for the Roadrunners (1-0-2), who opened with ties against Texas State and No. 6 TCU.
UTSA is back at Park West on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. against St. Mary’s.




Then the game started … and it was rivalry time.
The Roadrunners and Bobcats, whose sports teams have been squaring off for 45 years, played to a hard fought and sometimes rough 2-2 tie on Wednesday at UTSA Park West.

Both teams scored once in each half.
Texas State scored first on an own goal. UTSA tied it 1-1 before halftime on a penalty kick by Brooklyn Bailey.
Texas State took a 2-1 lead in the second half when Nina Norshie scored off an assist from Matsuri Tsutsui.
UTSA got back even in the 74th minute when Dulci Binns scored off a free kick from Leah Varela.
UTSA plays again Sunday on the road against No. 6 TCU. The Roadrunners are back at Park West on Thursday, Aug. 20, against Colorado College.





Jasmine Kessler, Kylie Kissee and Jaelyn Bracamonte took turns at goalkeeper for UTSA as the Roadrunners held the Longhorns to one goal.
UTSA has a second exhibition on the road against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday.
The Roadrunners open the regular season at home on Wednesday, Aug. 12, against Texas State.
