2024 returning statistical leaders among tight ends:

Houston Thomas – 34 catches, 470 yards, 3 touchdowns

Patrick Overmyer – 31 catches, 283 yards, 3 touchdowns

Dan Dishman – 12 catches, 171 yards, 3 touchdowns

The UTSA offensive line has a number of experienced players going through spring practice.

Seniors Cory Godinet, Kamar Missouri, Andrew Alvarado, Jaylen Garth and Demetris Allen all went through Monday morning’s offensive line drills.

Robert Henry Jr. led UTSA rushers last season with 747 yards and seven touchdowns.

Brandon High had 499 yards and a team-high eight touchdowns rushing in 2024.

UTSA returns some notable pass catchers from last season – including wide receivers, tight ends and running backs.

Devin McCuin had 45 catches for 424 yards in 2024. David Amador II had 31 catches for 376 yards in only five games. Running back Robert Henry Jr. caught 21 passes for 199 yards.

UTSA defensive linemen go through drills to work on their quickness, agility and footwork during Tuesday morning’s practice outside the RACE.

Note: I saw two players wearing No. 94 in the defensive line drills. The roster lists 94 as Corey Walls and also Kenny Ozowalu. I will clarify who is whom and will update this later. For the moment those two are identified in these photos only by their number.

Others who went through drills included Jon Jones, Daemian Wimberly, Mike Williams Jr., Travon Sylvester, Donal Quaite Jr., Chidera Otutu, Zechariah Robinson, Jaylan Jones, Anthony Santoscoy, Kaian Roberts, Jameian Buxton and Tai Leonard.

UTSA had four quarterbacks clad in red jerseys for Tuesday’s spring football practice.

The most recognizable was returning starter Owen McCown (13) – the only left-hander of the group.

Brandon Tennison (17) is also back from last fall’s roster.

New to UTSA for this spring are Noah Lugo (10), a redshirt-freshman transfer from Haslet, Texas, and BYU; and Max Gerlich (12) a freshman from Austin Anderson.

Quarterback Frank Harris (7) led the UTSA offense.

Army beat UTSA 31-13 on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Alamodome.

The game included hard hitting on the field as well as some extra military flavor.

Trinity rolls over McMurry in football opener

Trinity opened the 2019 football season with a 41-10 home-field victory over McMurry on Thursday night.

Trinity quarterback Wyatt Messex completed 18-of-25 passes for 250 yards and five touchdown. Chris Stewart caught six passes for 125 yards and three touchdowns.
