MLB teams draft UTSA baseball players Zach Royse and Braylon Owens

UTSA pitchers Zach Royse and Braylon Owens were both selected in the 2025 Major League Baseball amateur draft.

They are the 43rd and 44th players in the history of the UTSA baseball program to be drafted. The draft was held July 13-14.

The Atlanta Braves took Royce in the seventh round as the 217th overall pick.

The Milwaukee Brewers took Owens in the 10th round as the 305th overall pick.

Royse was a junior for UTSA in the 2025 season. He had a 9-5 record on the season in 19 games including 17 starts.

Owens just finished his senior season. He pitched in 21 games including 14 starts and had a 7-2 record with three saves. He finished his four-year UTSA career with a 14-7 record and four saves.
