Flying Chanclas de San Antonio catcher Tyler LaRue is from Blanco High School and Rice University.

LaRue played in 10 of Rice’s 16 games during the shortened 2020 season.

He earned first-team all-state honors at Blanco in 2019 and was picked in the 38th round of the MLB draft by the Washington Nationals.

LaRue has played in 19 of 23 games this season for the Flying Chanclas de San Antonio. He has one double, two triples, seven RBIs and has walked 13 times.
