UTSA beat No. 2-ranked Stanford 6-5 in 10 innings on Monday at Roadrunner Field for a landmark victory in the school’s 40-year history of college sports.

UTSA led 5-2 after four innings before Stanford came back to tie it 5-5 with a run in the fifth and a two-run homer from Carter Graham in the eighth.

The Roadrunner’s John Chomko pitched the ninth and 10th innings to get the win. Chomko struck out the first two Stanford batters in the top of the 10th and got Carter to line out to retire the Cardinal.

That put UTSA in a position to end it with a run in the bottom of the 10th. Shane Sirdashney led off with a ground ball that Stanford turned into a throwing error that went into the Cardinal dugout. That put Sirdashney at second base with no outs and the Roadrunners were in business.
