UTSA opens men’s basketball season against Oklahoma

The UTSA men’s basketball team opens its 2019-2020 season on the road tonight against Oklahoma.

Game time is 7 p.m. The game will be on the radio in San Antonio on AM-760.

5 Makani Whiteside, 6-4 freshman guard from Madera, California

10 Erik Czumbel, 6-3 freshman guard from Verona, Italy

12 Phoenix Ford, 6-8 sophomore forward from St. Petersburg, Florida

21 Knox Hellums, 6-5 junior guard from Tomball, Texas

24 Jacob Germany, 6-11 freshman center from Kingston, Oklahoma

32 Austin Timperman, 6-9 freshman forward from The Woodlands, Texas

44 Luka Barasic, 6-10 junior forward from Osijek, Croatia

Courtney Walters sets UTSA volleyball record

UTSA freshman Courtney Walters served up seven aces in a volleyball match on Tuesday at the UTSA Convocation Center.

That set a Roadrunners school record for aces in a three-set match.

UTSA beat Incarnate Word 25-16, 25-16, 25-8.

Army beat UTSA 31-13 on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Alamodome.

The game included hard hitting on the field as well as some extra military flavor.

UTSA’s Jhivvan Jackson plays at home for first time this season

UTSA guard Jhivvan Jackson scored 22 points in his first home game of the season. The Roadrunners lost to Texas State 69-68 on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at the UTSA Convocation Center. Jackson sat out the first two home games while rehabbing a knee injury suffered last season.
