Chanclas hammer out first win of TCL season

The Flying Chanclas de San Antonio picked up their first win of the Texas Collegiate League season on Thursday night in Amarillo.

The Chanclas piled up 12 hits and broke loose for eight runs in the eighth inning to beat the Sod Squad 11-5.

The top three guys in the Flying Chanclas’ batting order – Porter Brown, Jordan Thompson, Kyte McDonald – had two hits each. Leyton Barry, batting in the No. 8 spot, had three hits, two RBIs and a run scored.

The Chanclas (1-2) return to San Antonio for their home opener on Friday night at Wolff Stadium. That is the first of a three-game series.
