Gabe Mosser pitched four scoreless inning to start the Missions’ shutout of the Hooks.Five San Antonio Missions pitchers teamed up to shut out the Corpus Christi Hooks 9-0 on Wednesday at Wolff Stadium.
Gabe Mosser, who was recently promoted to the Missions from Class A Fort Wayne, started and went four innings. He allowed two hits and one walk with one strikeout.
Jose Espada was the first Missions reliever out of the bullpen and went 2 2/3 innings to earn the win.
Justin Lopez got the final out of the seventh inning. Jairo Iriarte and Jose Quezada pitched one inning each to finish the game.
The Missions dominated the game with 11 hits. Ripken Reyes, Daniel Johnson, Marcos Castanon and Michael De La Cruz had two hits each. Johnson and Castanon had triples and Korry Howell and Juan Fernandez both had doubles. Castanon extended his hitting streak to nine games.
