Porter Brown of the 2020 Flying Chanclas de San Antonio is an outfielder from Reagan High School and TCU.

The Chanclas’ leadoff batter is off to a hot start at the plate in the Texas Collegiate League season.

Through six games he leads the team lead in hits (nine) and is tied for the team lead in batting average (.375). He has also drawn four walks and has three RBIs.

In the Chanclas’ July 4 weekend three-game homestand, he hit the ball hard in almost every at-bat. He started two of the three games in left field and was the designated hitter in the final game of the series.

UPDATE: Jerry Briggs reported on Tuesday that Porter Brown is out for the season with a broken finger – right hand, pinky finger.
