St. Mary’s opened its 2020 baseball season with a 5-0 shutout of Cameron on Friday at home at Dickson Stadium.

Rattlers starting pitcher Zach De La Garza went six innings to earn the win. He gave up three hits and struck out eight batters.

Patrick Fennell scored the first run of the season for St. Mary’s in the bottom of the second inning. Fennell led off the inning with a single, advanced on Mitchell Caskey’s double and scored on an error.
