San Antonio starting pitcher Adam Mazur went five innings and gave up only one unearned run as the Missions beat the Springfield Cardinals 3-2 on Friday night at Wolff Stadium.

Mazur (2-3) allowed five hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

Daniel Camarena pitched the ninth inning to earn his third save.

Missions manager Luke Montz was ejected while arguing a call in the top of the third inning.

Ripken Reyes, Nathan Martorella and Michael De La Cruz all had RBI hits for the Missions. Connor Hollis had two hits and scored twice and Graham Pauley had two hits and scored a run.

Graham Pauley hit his second home run since joining the San Antonio Missions and Cole Cummings hit his 11th.

The two long balls on a rare night when the wind was blowing out of Wolff Stadium helped carry the Missions to a 4-3 victory over the Springfield Cardinals on Tuesday.

Pauley’s solo shot in the first inning put the Missions in front 1-0. San Antonio scored twice in the fourth inning to go up 3-1. Cummings’ solo homer in the sixth extended the lead to 4-1.

Missions starting pitcher Robby Snelling (2-0) got the win. The 19-year-old left-hander went five innings and allowed one run on five hits with no walks and three strikeouts.

Daniel Camarena earned his second save of the season by retiring all three batters he faced in the ninth inning.

Homer Bush Jr., playing in his first game at Wolff Stadium since joining the Missions, had two hits and an RBI.

Missions lose early lead for 2nd straight night; Daniel Camarena, Michel Baez pitch 6 strong innings

The San Antonio Missions scored the first four runs of the game before falling to the Midland RockHounds 7-5 on Wednesday at Wolff Stadium.

For the second straight night, the Missions shut out the RockHounds over the first five innings.

The Missions got strong pitching early. Starter Daniel Camarena threw three shutout innings. Michel Baez followed by allowing one run over three innings as the Missions built a 4-1 lead after six innings.

Ripken Reyes gave the Missions a fast start by leading off the bottom of the first inning with his fifth home run of the season. Reyes, Jackson Merrill, Korry Howell and Justin Farmer had two hits each and the Missions finished with 12 hits.

The RockHounds turned the game around with four runs in the seventh inning. That included a crucial error by the Missions with two outs followed shortly thereafter by a three-run homer by Max Muncy.

Midland put the game out of reach with a two-run homer by Jack Winkler in the top of the eighth.

Ray-Patrick Didder drove in two crucial runs in the San Antonio Missions’ 3-2 victory over the Frisco RoughRiders on Thursday at Wolff Stadium.

Didder’s two-run single was part of a three-run Missions rally in the sixth inning. His hit brought in Michael De La Cruz with the go-ahead run and Juan Fernandez with a run that gave the Missions a 3-1 cushion they would need.

Daniel Johnson led off the bottom of the sixth with a single. He advanced to second when De La Cruz walked, then scored the Missions’ first run on a hit by Fernandez to tie the game 1-1.

Frisco took the first lead of the game with a run in the top of the third inning. After the Missions went ahead 3-1 in the sixth inning, the Rough Riders made it close with a run in the top of the ninth.

Relief pitcher Blake Cederlind made his San Antonio Missions debut and got the win. He pitched the top of the sixth inning and allowed no runs, one hit, two walks and two strikeouts.

Missions starter Daniel Camarena had a strong outing but got no decision. He went five innings and allowed one run on three hits and one walk with four strikeouts.

Jose Quezada pitched scoreless seventh and eighth innings for the Missions. Alek Jacob pitched the ninth inning, allowed one run, and got his fifth save of the season.

Justin Farmer also made his Missions debut and played in right field.

After going scoreless for the first six innings, the San Antonio Missions rallied to beat the Midland RockHounds 4-3 on Friday at Wolff Stadium.

The Missions scored three times in the seventh to tie the game 3-3. They ended it in the bottom of the ninth. Jake Perez led off the ninth with a bunt single, went to second when Ripken Reyes was hit by a pitch and scored on a walk-off single to right field by Tirso Ornelas.

Ornelas had a run-scoring hit to tie the game in the seventh inning along with the game-winner in the ninth.

Midland took the lead by scoring twice in the first inning and once in the third. San Antonio relievers combined to pitch four scoreless innings to allow the Missions to get back in the game. Nick Hernandez pitched 1 2/3 scoreless, followed by Aaron Leasher going one inning. Jose Quezada pitched the final 1 1/3 innings and got the win.

The Missions bats came alive in the seventh inning with RBI singles by Juan Fernandez, Reyes and Ornelas.

Fernandez came in at catcher to start the third inning, replacing Chandler Seagle. Missions catcher Yorman Rodriguez is on the seven-day injured list, so if Seagle goes out with an injury, that would leave Fernandez and Michael De La Cruz to handle that position.

San Antonio Missions relievers Seth Mayberry and Henry Henry earned wins as the Missions swept a doubleheader with the Corpus Christi Hooks, 4-3 and 2-1, on Saturday at Wolff Stadium.

The Missions have won five straight going back to the second half of a Wednesday night doubleheader. The series concludes with a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m. – weather permitting.

The Missions’ got their first-game scoring with four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Connor Hollis had the big shot with his first home run of the season to score two runs. Brantley Bell and Chandler Seagle also had RBI hits in the inning.

Missions starter Daniel Camarena pitched 3 1/3 innings in the first game and allowed one run. Mayberry was the first pitcher out of the bullpen and allowed two runs in 1 2/3 innings.

Michel Baez and Jared Koenig pitched one scoreless inning each to finish the seven-inning game. Koenig picked up his third save.

Jose Espada started the second game for the Missions and pitched two scoreless innings with no hits and two strikeouts. Henry was next on the mound and tacked on two more scoreless innings to get his first win of the season.

Lake Bachar added two scoreless innings and Nick Hernandez got the save by pitching the final inning and allowing one run.

The Missions’ runs in the second game came on a Juan Fernandez RBI ground ball in the first inning and Hollis came in from third base on a passed ball in the sixth inning.

Naturals use big inning to sink Missions; Juan Fernandez has another big day at the plate

Northwest Arkansas pounded out six runs in the second inning and rolled to a 6-3 victory over the San Antonio Missions on Sunday at Wolff Stadium.

The Missions’ Juan Fernandez had three hits and extended his hitting streak to eight games. He has a .487 batting average and 1.155 OPS with eight RBIs in 10 games.

Fernandez scored the Missions’ first run in the bottom of the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly. He added a two-run single in the seventh for the rest of the Missions’ scoring.

San Antonio starter Daniel Camarena made his season debut with the Missions and pitched one scoreless inning. The 30-year-old left-hander did not allow a hit, walked two and struck out two. Camarena pitched in six games with the San Diego Padres in 2021.

Missions reliever Henry Henry was tagged for all six runs. He gave up three hits and two walks and hit two batters in 2/3 of an inning as he struggled with his control.

Three San Antonio relievers – Nolan Watson, Alek Jacob and Kevin Kopps – combined to hold Northwest Arkansas scoreless over the final seven innings.
