Jordyn Jenkins and Elyssa Coleman announced Friday on UTSA women’s basketball social media that they will both return for next season.
Jenkins missed UTSA’s first 21 games of the 2023-24 season with a knee injury. The 6-foot senior forward from Kent, Wash., averaged a team-high 17.1 points per game over the final 12 games of the season. Jenkins’ efforts helped UTSA to a fourth-place finish in the American Athletic Conference regular-season season standings in 2023-24.
She recorded team-highs of 27 points and seven rebounds in an 80-62 victory over Northern Colorado in the first round of the 2024 Women’s NIT – the first postseason tournament victory in UTSA women’s basketball history.
Jenkins was the Conference USA player of the year in 2022-23.
