It was just a matter of time this season before Hiura went from the Triple-A San Antonio Missions up to Milwaukee.
The 22-year-old from California was called up this week.
Hiura played 37 games for the Missions this season. He batted .333 with 11 home runs, 15 walks and four stolen bases.
Hiura, a first-round draft pick by the Brewers in 2017, had two hits and a walk in his first game in the majors.
Diaz is hitting .220 with three home runs and 15 RBIs in 32 games for the New Orleans Baby Cakes – the Marlins’ Triple-A club.
The second baseman from Puerto Rico split last season between New Orleans and Double-A Jacksonville. He hit .245 with 20 home runs in 83 games in Jacksonville and .204 with three home runs in 36 games with New Orleans.
He was originally drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2014. He went from Arizona to Miami in a trade prior to the 2016 season.
The Milwaukee Brewers announced player moves on Friday including the following:
Troy Stokes Jr. activated from the IL with San Antonio Missions.
Blake Allemand transferred from San Antonio Missions to Rocky Mountain.
Update: Stokes will start tonight for the Missions, bat sixth and play left field.
Dubon hit his third home run of the season in the bottom of the first inning for the first run of the game.
Freitas, who leads the Missions in hitting with a .359 average, hit his first homer of the season in the second inning. That gave the Missions a 2-0 lead.
Tyler Saladino added a massive two-run homer in the fifth inning. It was a 476-foot shot over the big wall in straightaway center field.
Missions starting pitcher Thomas Jankins (2-1) got the win. He went six innings and allowed two unearned runs on four hits with three strikeouts and one walk. He also had an RBI single in the fourth inning.
The Milwaukee Brewers’ second-round pick from the 2014 draft is currently with the New Orleans Baby Cakes, who are in San Antonio to play four games against the Missions.
The Missions are the Triple-A farm club of the Brewers. Harrison was traded from the Brewers to the Miami Marlins – the Baby Cakes’ parent club – as part of the Christian Yelich deal.
Harrison is hitting .291 on the season with four home runs in 26 games. The 6-foot-3, 231-pound outfielder leads the team in stolen bases with 10 – including three on Wednesday night at Wolff Stadium.
Actually, the 6-foot-3 right-hander looked about the same as he has all season.
Gallen pitched seven innings and gave up one run on two hits with seven strikeouts and three walks. Gallen (5-0) got the win in the Baby Cakes’ 5-2 victory over the San Antonio Missions.
Gallen has allowed either one or zero runs in five of his seven starts this season. He gave up two runs in his other two starts.
The third-round draft pick by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2016 has been so strong this season that by giving up one run to the Missions, his ERA went up from 1.19 to 1.24. Gallen is the No. 18 prospect in the Marlins organization, according to MLB.com.
Just when it looks like Ray was ready to get on a hot streak at the plate, he was out for about two weeks with a finger injury. He had two hits in two of the last three games before he was sidelined.
And when the first-round draft pick from 2016 was activated off the injured list to return, he missed a few more days when he and his wife had a baby.
Tuesday night Ray was back at the top of the Missions’ batting order and playing center field. He had one hit in the Missions’ 1-0 10-inning victory over the New Orleans Baby Cakes at Wolff Stadium.

Both times Hager came through with a hit that gave the San Antonio Missions a victory.
After producing a walk-off hit on Sunday at Wolff Stadium, Hager did it again Tuesday night.
This time Hager’s single in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Missions a 1-0 victory over the New Orleans Baby Cakes.
Under the extra-innings rule, the Missions started the bottom of the 10th with Cory Spangenberg on second base. Nate Orf had a bunt single to advance Spangenberg to third. Jacob Nottingham got an intentional walk to load the bases.
That brought Hager to the plate. He responded with his 12th RBI of the season.
The Missions used five pitchers to combine for the 10-inning shutout. Aaron Wilkerson started and pitched five innings. Alex Wilson (1-0) pitched the top of the 10th inning and got the win. The Missions got the final two outs in the top of the 10th with a double play.
The Triple-A game at Wolff Stadium was Nelson’s first game since he suffered a shoulder injury late in the 2017 season.
That was a promising year for Nelson. The 6-foot-6 right-hander had a 12-6 record and 3.49 ERA with the Brewers.
But that came to an end when he was hurt and diagnosed with a partially torn labrum and a strained rotator cuff. That not only ended his 2017 season, he missed 2018 as well.
Sunday night, Nelson went 3 1/3 innings and threw 72 pitches against the Round Rock Express. The 2010 second-round draft pick allowed three earned runs and two hits with three strikeouts and four walks.
The key for the Brewers is that Nelson came out of the game healthy.
Nelson is scheduled to pitch for the Missions again on Saturday, according to a report from Adam McCalvy, who covers the Brewers.
The right-handed relief pitcher from the Dominican Republic got the assignment after seven relief appearances earlier in the season.
Sanchez pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings in the Missions’ 6-1 seven-inning victory over Round Rock in the second game of a doubleheader. He gave up one hit with three strikeouts and one walk.
For the season, Sanchez is 1-2 with a 2.93 ERA.
Left-hander Donnie Hart (1-1) came in for Sanchez in the fourth inning and got the win. Hart pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed one hit. Alex Wilson and Deolis Guerra pitched one inning each to finish the game.
