UTSA forward Josh Farmer is a 6-foot-10 sophomore from Houston.

Farmer has played in all of UTSA’s first 14 games this season and made four starts. He averages 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

He recorded a season-high 17 points and 12 assists in the season opener against Trinity and scored 10 points against Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 18.

John Buggs III is one of three UTSA men’s basketball players to start all 14 games so far this season.

The 6-foot-3 guard is third on team in scoring with 10.7 points. He is shooting .429 from 3-point range with a team-high 36 made 3-pointers.

Buggs scored his season-high 20 points against Louisiana Tech on Dec. 29.

He is a redshirt sophomore from Louisiana.

UTSA women earn first conference win on Jenkins’ late 3-pointer

UTSA women’s basketball beat UAB 71-68 on Saturday at the Convocation Center for the Roadrunners’ first Conference USA win of the season.

Jordyn Jenkins hit a 3-pointer off an assist from Kyra White with 9 seconds left to break a 68-68 tie. UTSA is 3-8 on the season and 1-1 in Conference USA.

Jenkins, a transfer from USC and the Roadrunners’ leading scorer on the season, finished the game with 13 points.

Sidney Love led UTSA in scoring. The freshman guard from Cibolo Steele High School in the San Antonio area had 23 points.

Kyra White, also a transfer from USC, nearly recorded a double-double. The former star at Converse Judson in the San Antonio area had 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 points.

Denim DeShields led UAB with 25 points

UTSA plays its next two games on the road, Thursday, Jan. 5 at Middle Tennessee and Saturday, Jan. 7 at Western Kentucky.

The Roadrunners’ next home game is Wednesday, Jan. 11 against UTEP.

UTSA men’s basketball opens conference play

The UTSA men’s basketball team plays its Conference USA opener at home today.

The Roadrunners take on North Texas at 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center. The game will be televised on ESPN+.

UTS is coming off a 90-69 victory over Bethune-Cookman.

Jacob Germany is averaging 11.7 points and a team-high 7.4 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-11 senior center from Oklahoma is one of three UTSA men’s basketball players to start all 11 games so far this season.

DJ Richards was named the Conference USA freshman of the week for the second week in a row.

Richards started four of the UTSA men’s basketball team’s first 11 games of the season. The guard from Houston is averaging 9.5 points per game and is second on the team in made 3-pointers with 24.

Japhet Medor is a senior guard from Florida. He leads the UTSA men’s basketball team with 12.4 points and 3.9 assists through the first 11 games of the season.

Christian Tucker is a 6-foot-3 sophomore guard from Chandler, Arizona.

Tucker played in 25 games as a freshman and made six starts. He averaged 3.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists.
